Thursday the 9th was my day off, so I went to Magic Kingdom with my work friend, Emily, to play. We planned on taking the B bus to the Polynesian and riding their monorail to MK, but Emily missed the bus and I ended up walking from the Polynesian to the TTC monorail. Then we couldn't find each other for about 10 minutes at MK. Oops.
Once we were reunited, we headed over towards the castle and caught the tail end of Move It Shake It Celebrate It! It was so awesome and terribly underrated. I danced with Genie (who was up on a float and seemed really happy that someone was enjoying MISICI) pretty much the whole time and at the end he blew me kisses. Then they shot out Mickey confetti and Emily and I joined the rest of the kids picking it up and stuffing it into our pockets.
We did lunch at Cosmic Ray's and then hopped on the Tomorrowland Speedway, which I have not done in forever. We decided to go on Buzz Lightyear next and just as we passed Auntie Gravity's I heard a familiar voice: Push the Talking Trashcan.
I immediately started fangirling. I love Push. I was going on about not having seen him since I was a kid and the Photopass guy heard me and told Push. Push then proceeds to say hi to me, give me a hug, and talk to me and Emily. I said we were going to Buzz Lightyear and Push told us he would walk us there. So we each put a hand on top of him and walked all the way to the ride with people looking at us, the Photopass guy taking pictures, and Push singing "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" until we got there. Then we got hugs again. I was so ecstatic I called my mom.
The for Buzz was amazingly fast and I totally kicked Emily's butt by hitting a two million point target on the first shot. Next we went to the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, which I had never done before. It was so funny! We took some castle pictures and then got a spot in front of the Liberty Tree Tavern for the parade, which was super awesome as always (if not extremely hot). I also discovered that in front of the Liberty Bell there are ASL interpreters for the parade music, so now I know exactly where I'm going to stand for every parade as a guest.
Afterwards we stopped by Westward Ho for some Powerade, and then talked to one of our friends at Outpost. Then it was over to the Pirates League to visit roommate Emily, who gave me a mini-makeover! We went on Pirates of the Caribbean right afterwards where a little girl asked me what was on my face and I told her it was a scar a pirate gave me, which was technically true.
Then we got pulled to the front of the line, skipping about ten people, and got on the boat... only to get stuck right after Blackbeard because some girl thought it would be cool to jump out of her boat and onto the island with the skeletons and crab. We had to wait for security to come and find her, search her, and then escort her out. Meanwhile, our boat was moving forwards and backwards through the mist. It was like being in a burning house. Eventually the ride moved forward again, but there was no sound until we got to Barbossa and the ship.
When the ride was over we caught the end Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Tutorial, then headed over to Thunder Mountain and waited forever. Then I got popcorn. Next we went on the new Dumbo (it's so majestic!) and It's a Small World. It was raining when we got off, but we decided to go on Prince Charming Regal Carousel (pretty sure that was my first time on it).
Then it began pouring. Like a torrential-tropical downpour. But did that stop us? No! We went on Winnie the Pooh, where we talked to Stephen who was working there. We asked him about how they close attractions since closing for F&B is pretty obvious. He said that basically they walk the tracks a few times to look for garbage, broken things, and guests.
Next we took cover under Storybrook Treats where I went all out on a $5 brownie sundae. Oh my goodness it was so good, you guys. Disney ice cream is seriously made with pixie dust. We headed to the front of the castle and watched The Magic, The Memories, and You! Unfortunately, because it was still raining Wishes was cancelled.
We wandered the shops on Main Street until it was time for our Peter Pan fast passes. We practically walked on when the wait was 30 minutes. It was glorious. The park was on the verge of closing so we walked over to the Contemporary to catch the bus.
I felt really bad though because there were so many people who got on that it was pretty much full when we got to West Clock. We got a few people on and could've fit about ten more, but the bus driver left. I know if I had been waiting to go home after work that would have upset me.
Once I got home I got ready for bed and discovered that I had gotten sunburned on the back of my neck and a small part of my shoulders around my razorback top. It really hurt, but the day was so awesome it was hard to be mad.
